Making Christ Visible in God’s Community

Holycross-10Our mission statement succinctly states who we are as a people here at Holy Cross. We are committed to seeking and serving God wherever we see God at work in any of God’s communities, near and far. From selling pumpkins for Habitat for Humanity and other charities here in the Upstate to sending a mission team to Ecuador, we strive to use our gifts and talents to serve the world in the name of Jesus Christ. This mission statement is our “immune system” that aids us as a body to determine what is “of us” and what is “foreign” to us. One question—“Will this help us make Christ visible in God’s community?”—keeps us on the path that God has called us to walk as a people.

Our Core Values

Our core values help us remember what is important as we minister in the world and to one another.

  • Everyone matters.
  • Every member is a minister.
  • We are a community that serves one another, yet exists for the benefit of those who are not yet members.
  • Our Trinitarian God reminds us that differences are what make community.
  • Sunday worship is the foundation of our community experience with God.
  • The local church is God’s best plan for transforming the world.
