· DYLTC:
(February 3rd through February 5th,
2012) at Camp Bob, Kanuga. DYLTC is for youth in grades 10th-12th. The
event cost is $75. The Diocesan Youth Leadership Training Conference is
designed around teaching skills and developing leadership. Workshops and
speakers are selected based on the theme of the event which is developed by the
DYLTC design team. The format has varied over the years and has been
structured around workshops, theme presentations, and an event speaker.
This event runs from Friday at 7:00pm through Sunday at 1Pm.
· Happening
#67: (March 23rd – March 25th, 2012).
The cost is $120. Happening is a weekend event for youth in grades 10th–12th
which is focused on encountering Christ within community and learning how to
strengthen our relationship with Christ and others. The weekend is
structured on a program which is governed by the National Happening Committee.
· Jr.
High Spring Retreat: New Beginnings: (April 27th
– April 29th, 2012) is offered to youth in grades 6th–8th. The
cost is $75. This program, which is rooted in the tradition of Happening
and Cursillo, is based on presenting the basics of Christianity and how we use
that faith to guide our life. Talks are given throughout the weekend by
youth and adults on various subjects; friends, family, peer pressure, the
church, Jesus, and sharing your faith. Participants have the opportunity
to share their response in small groups. Interspersed between talks are times
for games, hanging out with friends, and large group activities. The event
runs from Friday at 6:00pm to Sunday at 1:00pm.
SUPPORT
OUR YOUTH BY SHOPPING AT BILO!
Bi-Lo
boostersplus cards are now available on the credenza in the narthex.
Take one
card to your local Bi-Lo store (even if you have done this in the past, please
get a card because a new card needs to be scanned each year). The store needs
to scan the card one time and then every time you use your regular Bi-Lo card
for the next year, the youth group will receive a donation from Bi-Lo.
For more
information, contact Kellie at 967-7470 or youth@holycrossep.org.
