We are making Christ visible in God’s community by welcoming new members to our Holy Cross community. The Membership Committee is comprised of several subcommittees. With the assistance and guidance of the clergy, we are involved in many areas of ministry that facilitate the assimilation process of new members and the nurturing of existing members.
- Wine & Cheese–Newcomers are invited to attend an introductory Wine & Cheese gathering to informally get a basic introduction to Holy Cross, ask questions, and meet clergy and staff. These are periodically scheduled and based on providing your contact information to a greeter, usher, or clergy member. Please check announcements and E-blast for the upcoming dates. - Discovering Holy Cross– This class is required before Confirmation or being received by the Bishop. It is a two-part class and is usually held on a Friday evening and Saturday morning, It includes instructions in the history and beliefs of the Episcopal Church and is intended to increase your knowledge and strengthen your faith. Throughout the class there is plenty of time for questions and open discussion. Please watch the Sunday bulletin and weekly E-blast for upcoming dates and sign-up locations.
- Greeters– Greeters help to insure that Holy Cross remains (after more than 50 years) the warm and friendly church it is known to be. Greeters are present at each service to welcome everyone who attends and, especially, to assist visitors and newcomers with name tags, signing our Guest Registry and any directions that might be needed.
- Name Tags – Email the Parish Administrator, Lynn Gilbode (parishadmin@holycrossep.org) and specify your name and how you want it spelled on your name tag.
